We make this anytime of year but gingerbread always makes me feel Christmassy! This is the first gingerbread recipe I found that doesn't involve lots of heating up or chilling in the fridge afterwards so its definitely a favourite!

ree

You will need;

350g Plain flour

1tsp bicarbonate of soda

2tsp ground ginger

1tsp cinnamon

125g butter (Make sure it's cold)

175g sugar

1 egg

4tbsp syrup

ree

Sift Flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices into a bowl

ree

Add butter and rub through fingers to make breadcrumbs

Stir in sugar

ree

Break egg into a jug and beat

ree

Add into the mixture with the syrup (don't forget to lick syrup spoon!)

ree

Mix and eventually get your hands in to form a dough

ree

Turn it out onto a floured surface, roll out about as thick as a £1 coin

ree

Raid the cutter shapes for anything Christmassy

ree

Bake around 180 degrees for between 10 and 15min or until they look done (that one is for you Mum!)
