We make this anytime of year but gingerbread always makes me feel Christmassy! This is the first gingerbread recipe I found that doesn't involve lots of heating up or chilling in the fridge afterwards so its definitely a favourite!

You will need;
350g Plain flour
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
2tsp ground ginger
1tsp cinnamon
125g butter (Make sure it's cold)
175g sugar
1 egg
4tbsp syrup

Add butter and rub through fingers to make breadcrumbs
Stir in sugar

Break egg into a jug and beat

Add into the mixture with the syrup (don't forget to lick syrup spoon!)

Mix and eventually get your hands in to form a dough

Turn it out onto a floured surface, roll out about as thick as a £1 coin

Raid the cutter shapes for anything Christmassy

Bake around 180 degrees for between 10 and 15min or until they look done (that one is for you Mum!)
