Worry Dolls are said to have originated from Guatemala and are a series of small dolls that children can tell their worries to before night time (and so get a good nights sleep). Silly Billy by Anthony Browne is a good story that explains them - and there is even a youtube telling of it.
You can buy worry dolls but we had a go at making ours from lolly sticks, pipe cleaners, wool and paper.

We had lots of fun and the girls now have some dolls to tell their worries to when they want (obviously we they know that they are able to talk to us about anything that is worrying them too!).
